Is neck liposuction permanent? (photos)

Combining a good liposuctioning of the neck/jawline with a lower face/neck lift would by far be your best option and can be done under local anesthesia. It would look so natural and be a huge improvement.

LIFO suction is permanent fat removal. Of course if you gain excessive amounts of weight following the procedure you'll certainly re-accumulate that fat even in the areas that were suctioned

Long story short, liposuction is a permanent change. Fat cells are sculpted from the body and never return. From that point on, you will always be smaller in the area that was treated. 

 Patients looking for rejuvenation of the neck for fat deposits need to consider non-invasive techniques or minimally invasive techniques such as cool sculpting or Kybella. With larger areas of fat in the neck you may be counseled to consider minimally invasive surgical procedures or even surgical procedures to rejuvenate their neck   It is helpful to have realistic expectations for what can be achieved with each level of intervention. This requires a realistic expectation for what the true amount of neck fat and loose skin represent. Often how one's neck looks can determine how old a patient appears. A more contoured and youthful appearing neck can dramatically alter how old a patient looks. Make sure you consider all of the nonsurgical to minimally invasive to maximally invasive possibilities before  you make a decision about which treatment to pursue.

Yes, your results from neck liposuction should be permanent in the sense that the fat cells that are removed will not grow back, however if there was any significant weight gain, then the other fat pads (such as those under the muscle) can expand.  I would caution you that neck liposuction alone may not be a great option in this case.  I happen to do a lot of this kind of work and in your neck, I would seriously consider inserting a chin implant.  It will not only improve your profile, but also help take up some of the loose skin that could result from liposuction alone.  Furthermore, I discuss the possibility that necks like yours might require skin removal (e.g. neck lift) later if we are unhappy with the quality of the skin that results.  I think it is unlikely, and I've only actually done it once, but clearly something you need to be aware of.Good Luck!

Liposuction of the neck is a good procedure that removes fat from the neck area.  Once the fat is removed the fat will not come back.  The existing fat that is still present can get bigger with weight gain.  It is important to stay healthy and keep weight stable after any body contouring procedure.  Combining your liposuction with laser ultra sound and a chin implant would likely give you a nice result.  Good luckDr.  B

The results of liposuction are stable over time unless you gain a lot of weight. Looking at your profile I believe some of the issues you have with your neck are related to a weak chin. I would consider chin augmentation with moving the lower jaw forward or an implant. Talking with a board certified plastic surgeon would be best.

Your pictures are very helpful. You would get better results with neck liposuction, chin augmentation and with or without neck lift. The decision to do neck lift will depend on your age and skin quality over the neck area. You are not a good candidate for non-invasive treatments like Coolsculpting, Thermi thight or Kybella.
