I bet you're excited! Surgery is both Art and Science and I'm sure your surgeon has their preference in regards to post-operative garments and compression. You should check with their office unless they are going to be providing you with the garment. It's important to avoid direct pressure on the area that has received the fat grafting. This can be done by simply buying a round pillow similar to the shape of a log to sit upon with the pressure placed on the back of your thighs not your buttock. If you must sit in a chair lean forward so that you are putting the pressure on the thighs and less so on the buttock. There is no need to put undue pressure on a surgical site but gentle pressure has some benefits and also gives the patient a sense of support and comfort. Good luck!
There are a number of available garments and pillows. The best advice is to follow the recommendations of your board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS). That being said said, in my practice we provide garments from Design Veronique this is combined with Reston foam and a custom tailor to ensure appropriate fit. With regards to pillows, the "Booty Buddy" is most popular. However, the best pressure is no pressure. I have found that pillows are often times taken as license to sit. I recommend patients strictly avoid direct pressure for at least 2 weeks followed by progressive incremental increases (with a goal of 1 hour uninterrupted by 1 month post op).
Usually your PS will provide your first post op compression garment? and can recommend their favorite pillow. I use Design Veronique for my body garments. If the patient also has arm liposuction included in their BBL, I use the Marena "chest vest". I also use lipo foam to bad the garment that I recommend you keep using for 2 weeks post op. My favorite BBL pillow is the Booty Buddy.
Dear nataliecrystal,it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, ...
Yes, in many cases, lipo can be done awake and under local anesthetic. A BBL can be done that way also. See link below for an example.
Dear mimi0888,I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a BBL surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process at 5 weeks post op. Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has i...
