Lipo and BBL under local anesthesia?

Question

Hi I would like to know if I could get lipo and maybe a bbl under local anesthesia? I don't want general at all! And I don't want that much work done just a little from my stomach, maybe inner thighs and MAYBE transferred to my butt for a little more definition. My butt is already pretty big and I have a small waist just want to get rid of unwanted baby fat. But are these procedures able to be done under local anesthesia?

Yes, in many cases, lipo can be done awake and under local anesthetic. A BBL can be done that way also. See link below for an example.

Greetings. The procedure could be done under local anesthesia. However, there would be limitations depending on pain level, volume that could be injected, etc. This is something to discuss with a plastic surgeon during consultation so the correct treatment plan can be discussed for your situation. Thanks for the question.  Liposuction is routinely done under local tumescent anesthesia.  BBLs are typically done under general anesthesia or IV sedation.  There are a few clinical scenarios where a BBL can be done under local; a small amount of fat be transferred, injections in the superficial plane, and addressing small contour deformities.  In most cases with a BBL, the fat is injected in the both the superficial fat as well as the deeper muscle layers.  These deeper injections are painful.  Using the tumescent technique (local anesthesia) to inject the buttocks will distort the anatomy and is not recommended for bigger fat transfers due to the inability to assess where the fat should be injected.
