I know each everyone recovers at different rates, but I would like to know a relatively common amount of time just get some sort of idea. Thank you.
Answer: In a BBL, how long does it take (on average) for fat cells to become vacularized? Thank you for your questions. The bottom line is that no one really knows the "right" answer. The cells probably survive initially by taking in nutrients from surrounding cells. Those that are not successful at this initially will likely not survive more than a few days. However, those that are making it through this process can still be "knocked off" by minimal changes to the environment, so that is why it is advised to treat the area gently for several weeks to promote optimal take. The real answer is that fat grafting is not an exact science and can be unpredictable.Hope this helps!

Answer: Fat viability Dear formentera1995,in most cases, it can take a few months until the final results are seen. I instruct my patients not to sit for 2 solid weeks. We provide them a specialized pillow that our patients can sit on during that time. They can sleep on their stomachs or sides. Fat viability depends a lot of surgeon technique. The fat has to be placed back into the buttocks as soon as possible so that it has a greater chance of survival. It has to be placed carefully so that not too much fat is placed in only one area.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: How long does it take (on average) for fat cells to become vacularized? Thank you for your question. After surgery there is a predictable swelling process that mostly resolves over two months, when the final result really settles in. Around 70% of fat that is grafted is typically expected to survive long term. We also put a little extra to account for loss of fat post operative, which is reabsorbed gradually by the body.

Answer: Fat grafts I am guessing it is similar to skin grafts in which you get ingrowth within 3-5 days, but you really do not want to put pressure on it for several weeks to avoid ischemia to the fat cells and potential damage.
