I'm looking for answers on how to get rid of the one large butt dimple I have —any suggestions? (Photo)

I have one large dimple on my left butt cheek and I’ve had it as long as I can remember. Sometimes it shows through leggings, shorts, swimsuits, etc and no amount of working out/running/squats is making it disappear. My butt has gotten bigger over this year and I was hoping it would help but I’m starting to think I might have to get a procedure done to correct it. Also rough price estimates on the different types of procedures would be nice!

You will need a Cellfina treatment to release the depression. This however, will not allow the skin to come up completely. So, you will need some kind of filler: fat grafting; Sculptra; or hyperdilute Radiesse.

That looks like a cellulite dimple. I think Cellfina would work very well on this. I have seen very dramatic results with Cellfina .Release of the dimple followed by fat grafting is another option. I would give Cellfina a chance.

These can be improved with a combination of surgery, fillers, and/or lasers and microneedling/prp. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a scarring expert.  you may need cellfina for cellulite, sculptra for collagen production, renuva fat injections or autologous fat injections. Deep dimples like ours may sometimes improve with combination of surgical release of deep bands (scar) and filling with fat grafts; 2-3 procedures (in local anesthesia) may be needed. Good luck.

Hello and thank you for posting photos along with your question. You have a couple of options here. The first is fat can be taken from an area of your body and then injected into the dent to get rid of it. This can be done under a local procedure in the clinic or you could do it under some IV sedation anesthesia. You will probably get a nice correction with just 1-2 treatments. If you wanted to go ahead and get increased volume to the WHOLE butt while you are at it then you can do that as well but that would have to be done under IV anesthesia. The other option is to have sculptra injected in that area but that would definitely require multiple treatments over months. This can be easily addressed and treated with fat grafting by a surgeon experienced and qualified in fat transplantation. Unlike some responses on this string, I do not think Celfina is your “best bet”.

Thanks for writing,Based on your story and your photo, this dimple is tethered to deeper tissues either from scar or a band if tissue that holds our skin to the deeper structures. Either way this band needs to be released, cut, and the spaced filled with fat. It might require two sessions of grafting, then again you may do well with one. This can be done in an office O.R.. This is a cellulite dimple.  A great solution for this is to divide the band between the skin and the underlying muscle that is causing the indentation.  This can be done with one celfina treatment which is an in office treatment for cellulite.

The best procedure for your single temple will be Subsicion with the addition of fat or fillers. This represents either cellulite or scar tissue contraction from a childhood injection(more likely if it's a single spot). Non-pliable bands of connective tissue whether scar tissue or not is pulling the skin in. Without the release of these bands adding volume will not release the simple. A Subsicion  cuts the contractile bands allowing the skin to come out adding a volume prevents score tissue from pulling the skin back in again. There is a device called Celfina  that does the Subsicion but this device is not absolutely necessary. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
