Will half a syringe of Voluma make a difference in the cheeks?

Half of a syringe of Voluma will create a very subtle change in the cheeks. The risk of bruising with a small volume of filler is essentially the same as a larger volume of filler. Voluma can be placed in other areas of the face as well as the cheeks but it needs to be placed deeper than the thinner hyaluronic acid fillers. Best.

Voluma is a fairly thick hyaluronic-acid based dermal filler. Even 1/2 syringe could make a subtle but noticeable difference in volume in your face. Good injection technique is part of a dermatologist’s expertise. While bruising may occur, it shouldn’t be expected at every treatment, unless you are susceptible to bruising overall. Consulting a few other board-certified dermatologists may allow you to choose a practitioner with more expertise.

Voluma is a great filler when used by expert injecting physicians.  A small amount can make a big difference.  I can always find room for a little bit more to make a face look more beautiful in a natural manner.  Though patients may bruise with any injection, it is certainly not normal that you should always bruise when injected.  The most important aspect of any aesthetic treatment is that you choose your injecting physician most carefully based on their skill, experience,knowledge, and natural artistic vision.  Good luck and be well.

This is difficult to answer without pictures, but that amount should make a subtle improvement. I recommend injections with cannulas to limit swelling and/or bruising. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Thank you for sharing your question.  After having 1.5cc's placed, an additional 0.5cc will make a subtle difference to your overall result.  Placement in the cheeks will aid in prolonging your results but if you are looking to make a more dramatic change consider use into other parts of the face like the chin, nose, or outer eyebrows. Hello and thank you for your question.  It is difficult to say if a half of a syringe would make a great difference since there are no photos, however, a small amount of Voluma can make a difference to highlight the cheeks in a thin face. Also, if you always bruise with injection, make sure you request a pre-treatment hand-out from your board certified provider.  This sheet should give you all the recommended supplements and OTC medications you should discontinue prior to fillers and Botox.  You can also start a homeopathic topical gel or oral form called Arnica.  It is typically offered in a blister pack for pre-treatment of injectables and surgical procedures.  I hope this information helps and best of luck to you!

In general, I would say that half a syringe of Voluma to the cheeks could make a subtle improvement.  Without examining you or seeing photographs of you, it is difficult to know what half a syringe of Voluma might do for you.  Anytime a filler is placed it is possible to get bruising or swelling, regardless of the amount used.  

When a small amount of filler is appropriately placed, it can have a great results.  Bruising can happen with any filler injections.  Always seek treatment form a qualified physician.
