Cleaning nose with alcohol and peroxide and 2% saliycic acid post op Rhinoplasty. Any suggestions?

HELPPPP! I have been using an eye dropper to put drops of water over my nose, sometimes peroxide, alchohol 2% salyiclic acid to cleans my skin-I am too afraid to touch it, then I dab with a napkin very gently... does the pressure of the drops affect anything? how about using the above mentioned on my nose, is that okay???? I had osteotomy, tip grafts and septoplasty with my rhino.... my skin is super thick with hardened oil and I don't know what to do but did I damage anything??

I would avoid putting any peeling solution on your nose. Just clean it with soap and water and consult your surgeon for any further instructions.

Dear Venetzviaan. I would suggest that you speak with your surgeons office many offices like mine have an aesthetician who will show the patient how to wash their face after their procedure. You can touch your nose using a good cleanser and use an astringent on a cotton pad to reduce the oil. You would not cause any damage dropping water over your nose with an eye dropper. i would not use salicylic acid or alcohol near any incisions. Best regards, Michael V. Elam, M.D.
