I’m on day 36 post op. My incision was not this open. Saw it today and the darkness inside worries me. The redness on my skin was a dermatitis I got from the tapes. What do you suggest. Thank you
Answer: Open wound after lift - What do you suggest? (photo) Based on your picture, you do not seem to have an infection. Continue your PS's advise on wound treatment as every PS has different post op care instructions. I tell my patients to keep it dry and cover with gauze.Kenneth Hughes, MD, ABPS Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

Answer: See your surgeon Although this may not be an issue, it would be a good idea to see your surgeon for an assessment just to be safe.

Answer: Breast lift incision Dear deboraguillen23, this type of wound is not uncommon after breast lift. It is usually caused by poor blood flow. I would suggest you to consult your plastic surgeon, follow your surgeon's instructions and keep your wound clean and covered. It can take few weeks or months for wound to fully heal. Answer: Breast Lift Hello, and thank you for your question. (Keep in mind that an in-person consultation is necessary for the best advice.) I'm sorry to hear that you've had trouble after surgery. Wound healing complications are not uncommon. Local wound care is the treatment. Be patient. and follow up with your plastic surgeon. Best of luck! Matthew A. DelMauro, M.D.
