Hi. I had Gynecomastia correction surgery just over 4 weeks ago after having both liposuction and removal of the gland. Two days ago I stopped wearing my compression binder and ever since I stopped wearing it, there has been a lot of swelling around the bottom of my chest (lower areola area). The swelling definitely got worse after removing the compression binder. I am just wondering if this is normal to occur or if there's a problem. Thanks for your help!

Yes. Fat grafting is going to be your best option for fixing your indented nipple. Just keep in mind that it may take more than one session to get your final results. Since not all of the fat will "take", the surgeon must overfill and then wait and see where things wind up. It is a process so...
At one week post op, it is way too soon to judge your results. Swelling is often asymmetric and can throw off how your chest looks for many weeks. For now, be patient. However, if the swelling doesn't improve and/or gets worse then see your surgeon asap. Best of luck.
I am so sorry that you've had such a bad experience. Based on your photos, you look as if you would benefit from having some of the extra skin removed. Possibly fat grafting to improve the look and shape. My best advice would be for you to schedule a consultation with another board certified...
