I can't really comment on coverage of breast augmentation for Canadian residents. But, if their coverage is anything similar to the US insurance companies the answer would be no. Breast augmentation is cosmetic. Period. No insurance company would pay for it, even with pectus excavatum because it is not a treatment for that process. Breast augmentation is a cosmetic procedure to enhance the size of the breasts and is separate from the pectus. That being said, it is important for patients with pectus excavatum to understand that most PE patients have some degree of asymmetry to the chest wall, and after breast augmentation sometimes those asymmetries can be magnified to some degree. This is unlikely to be quite noticeable if in fact the PE is mild but still a possibility. Sometimes we even have to make some adjustements to try to make those asymmetries less obvious. Definitely something to discuss with your surgeon of choice. Good luck!
