Check with OHIP to see if they will cover the procedure. Based on our experience here in the US, insurance companies will not cover breast augmentation for pectus exacavatum.
You can always ask the insurance company, but it am pretty sure they will not cover breast augmentation in your case.
You would have to call OHIP to ask for sure. Sometimes insurance companies may cover it, but often times they do not. Sometimes after an initial denial, you can appeal the decision. If have often been surprised with the results of the appeal.
I can't really comment on coverage of breast augmentation for Canadian residents. But, if their coverage is anything similar to the US insurance companies the answer would be no. Breast augmentation is cosmetic. Period. No insurance company would pay for it, even with pectus excavatum because it is not a treatment for that process. Breast augmentation is a cosmetic procedure to enhance the size of the breasts and is separate from the pectus. That being said, it is important for patients with pectus excavatum to understand that most PE patients have some degree of asymmetry to the chest wall, and after breast augmentation sometimes those asymmetries can be magnified to some degree. This is unlikely to be quite noticeable if in fact the PE is mild but still a possibility. Sometimes we even have to make some adjustements to try to make those asymmetries less obvious. Definitely something to discuss with your surgeon of choice. Good luck!
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately have never been able to obtain insurance company approval for breast augmentation to correct pectus excavatum. It is considered a cosmetic treatment. However he mask your primary care physician to submit a request for prior approval to your insurance company.
Thank you for your question.Unfortunately in my nearly 30 years of practice, I have never had a insurance company cover a breast augmentation for a Pectus Excavatum deformity. There are several financing options available. I suggest you make a appointment with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, who has experience in breast augmentation and Pectus Excavatum My best,
Your height and weight indicate that you are a petite person. The most important determinant of an implant being the right size for your anatomy is the base diameter of your breast and the implant you choose should fit within that - it should not be too big or too small. For a given base...
Thank you for your question. Surgical procedures to alter your chest are major reconstructive procedures that carry significant risk and will cause scarring.Breast augmentation could make your breasts more proportional to your chest with and help camouflage the barrel chest deformity.
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, there are no topical creams, chemicals, exercises, pumps, etc that will permanently enlarge the breast. Breast augmentation surgery is the safest, most reliable way to enlarge the breasts.Good luck!
