February 11, 2014 I had breast augmentation. Pre-op, I was a 32 AA. Received Mentor 325cc high profile silicone implants taking me to a 32D. I absolutely hate the size, but my surgeon will not consider revision until 1 year post-op. At one year post-op, should I be concerned with my skin and tissue being stretched? He said downsizing (to 250cc) would cause loose skin and droopy breasts. I don't know if this is his honest opinion or he's just trying to discourage me from any revision. Thank you!

Answer: When downsizing some looseness and saggy can happen but when amount is so different, will it make enough of a difference for you to be happy again. What is it about your current look that you find concerning? Knowing that would help in determining just what would be done. Before you have this done, ask for the dimensions of her current and planned implants so you can better visualize just how much (or little) of a difference it will make. You may find with the extra time and settling, that you may be okay with your current look. But in the end, your surgeon does want you to have the best result possible and to be as happy as possible... because if he wasn't, he wouldn't last very long in the competitive environments we work in.

Answer: Breast augmentation and droopiness Thank you for your question. I am sorry to hear that you are unhappy. It usually takes about a year to know the final results from a breast augmentation, so your surgeon's decision to want to wait one year is reasonable. Anytime you downsize significantly in implant size you can have sagging skin. The sagging skin can be addressed with a breast lift, but that will mean additional scars. I would try and be patient and let the implants settle and the swelling go down before making the final determination of whether you want to change. Good luck.
