I am concerned with the cons of downsizing my implants at 1 year post-op. Will my breasts look "droopy" or saggy? (photo)

Thank you for asking. If there is a significant size change there may be some element of sagging. How much depends on your skin and breast evaluation in a physical exam. If you are high profile now, is it also a profile concern that you have? Perhaps a moderate or moderate plus profile would achieve what you're looking for without too much sagging with an appropriate volume change. Ask your plastic surgeon.  Good luck

I am sorry you do not like the size of implants.  Size and the way you look in clothes is a very personal decision and being self conscious about your implants defeats the purpose of having them.  You certainly look fairly full i the picture you submitted but it is difficult to tell how much loose skin you have.  If you do not have a lot, going down in size should not cause too much laxity of the skin envelope.  I recommend an assesment from a board certified plastic surgeon to dtermine what your options would be.

You have a fabulous result in your photos. I caution you in that you would need to balance your desire to go smaller with possible sagging and scaring. Your present implant appears to fit your body habitus fairly well. Reconsider....Good luck and be well. 

some looseness and saggy can happen but when amount is so different, will it make enough of a difference for you to be happy again.  What is it about your current look that you find concerning?  Knowing that would help in determining just what would be done.  Before you have this done, ask for the dimensions of her current and planned implants so you can better visualize just how much (or little) of a difference it will make.  You may find with the extra time and settling, that you may be okay with your current look.  But in the end, your surgeon does want you to have the best result possible and to be as happy as possible... because if he wasn't, he wouldn't last very long in the competitive environments we work in.

Thank you for your question. I am sorry to hear that you are unhappy. It usually takes about a year to know the final results from a breast augmentation, so your surgeon's decision to want to wait one year is reasonable. Anytime you downsize significantly in implant size you can have sagging skin. The sagging skin can be addressed with a breast lift, but that will mean additional scars. I would try and be patient and let the implants settle and the swelling go down before making the final determination of whether you want to change. Good luck.

Revisionary breast surgery is not uncommon. Most surgeons wait until the acute inflammatory process has passed before suggesting a change in size - which can usually be performed at 6 months. From the picture it is hard to tell how much loose skin you will have after downsizing your implants.

You are young and your breast and skin tissues should retract after downsizing your breast implants.  Extreme downsizing can certainly cause sagging.  However going from 325 cc down to 250 cc is, in my opinion, unlikely to cause significant sagging in a young person with good skin tone.However I do share your concern that waiting a year will give the implants a chance to stretch your breasts more than is occurring in the first 3-6 months.It is your right to have the breast implants that you want.  If he still do not want these implants at 6 months, if you're my patients I would remove them.
