Could my nose still shrink a year and a half post rhinoplasty? (Photos)

Question

Had a revision rhinoplasty about a year and a half ago. Surgery was done was open rhinoplasty. After all this time my tip is extremely bulbous and hanging down which was my problem in the first place. Post up it looks different but still horrible! Could it still get better with time ( since it was revision I heard it takes longer ) and could steroidal injection help at this point .

The nose and especially nasal tip can continue to change and shrink for 2 to 3 years in some cases. Periodic steroid injections in the nasal tip can help expedite that process. Another revision surgery will end up the same way so do not undergo more surgery. RegardsDr. Janjua

Revision noses take longer for the swelling to completely resolve.  It is possible that you still have some swelling, but minimal at this point.  You probably have scar tissue underneath the skin, and only another revision with resection of the scar tissue would give meaningful improvement.

Generally, it will take about 12 months for most of swelling to go down for rhinoplasties.  I would recommend that you follow up with the surgeon who did your revision to discuss any other options at this point.  Good luck!

A primary rhinoplasty will typically take one year to completely heal.  A revision rhinoplasty will often take a little longer than that.  However, by one year most of your healing has taken place with little change occurring after that point.

Often a revision rhinoplasty patient will need more time for the tissues to settle. However, I doubt that your nose will change too much from where you are now.
