The skin flap needs to be sutured back or it might heal in an abnormal position. Some surgeons might opt to leave it alone as wound contracture will eventually close the gap but I would recommend resuturing it as it is a critical area. RegardsDr. Janjua

Thanks for your question. This shouldn't be a problem, but give your surgeon a call to be sure. Usually we see people about a week out from this kind of surgery to check the healing process anyway. Good luck!
