37 - will a neck lift give me a more defined jawline?

I am 37 and have had neck and chin lipo with laser but I don’t think it really gave me the tightness I am looking for. Will a neck lift give me a more defined jawline and less of a bunched up rolly looking neck?

youngface5229 - Thank you for your question.  This is a common problem and an all-too common result from liposuction.  Liposuction simply deflates the tissue and removes superfical fat.  It cannot removal fat, muscle or glandular structures beneath the platysma muscle and does nothing to tighten he underlying platysma muscle.  These would be requires to fully address the underlying structure of your neck.  Then, redraping and removal of excess skin would be required.  Your only true option is a deep plane face and neck lift with a vertical lift of the tissues.

Knowing that you had a prior liposuction procedure, I would say that your issue at this time is excess skin and loose muscle.  I have many patients come to me who are interested in neck rejuvenation and believe that liposuction alone will help with this.  Given the degree of laxity of your neck, a surgical  neck lift procedure will absolutely help.  I would strongly caution you about employing energy devices to tighten your skin as they are not going to come close to what a well performed surgical neck lift can do.
