I got smart lipo done under chin and jawline. The procedure was fairly 1 and half hour. Since the same day I didnt see no result actually I looked way bigger than I was initially. Today is 8th day I look very swallon and v tender to touch may be 20 percent swelling gone but definitely zero results and i look bigger than i was . Is this normal? I had one small incision under chin that's all .
Answer: Healing After SmartLipo Thank you for your questions and congratulations on your recent procedure! While you may think that you are not getting results, you are also too early in the healing process. You are still experiencing a good amount of swelling. You need to give yourself time to heal and keep in mind that with any lipo or SmartLipo procedure, it takes anywhere from six months to a year to have your final results. Good luck and congratulations again!

Answer: Smartlipo expectations Thanks for your question. You are nowhere near being healed yet. Any liposuction procedure takes a solid 3-6+ months to have the swelling resolve, skin tighten, and reach a new baseline. No one looks great at only 1 week out. Follow your surgeon's instructions and be patient with it... you will look great soon!

Answer: Laser Liposuction Thanks for posting your question. This area is one of the quickest healers. That said, 8 days is too soon to see your final result. If you have a compression wrap continue to wear it as this will help minimize any swelling. Also, use some ice. If the swelling seems to be getting worse check with your surgeon to make sure there is no fluid/infection. Best of luck, Dr. M

Answer: Swelling after liposuction Hi and welcome to our forum! Healing after submental liposuction will take some time. Healing after injury trauma is no different than healing after surgical trauma. There will be swelling, there may be some bruising and tenderness. The majority of the swelling should subside at about 6 weeks, but it takes 6-12 months for healing to be completed and for all swelling to abate. Be patient! If you are concerned, discuss with your surgeon at your next visit. Best wishes...

Answer: You need to remember that you will improve for 6 months!! you are being far too critical, way too soon. It would not be unusual to still be swollen. sometimes it can take 2 months before you start to see a difference. You need to try and forget about this and stop checking your progress daily. you will only drive yourself crazy. Forget about it for 2 months and then compare photos. you will keep improving for 6 months. Usually this area, gives very nice results but you need to be much more patient. This is based on my having done more than 800 Smartlipo casesdavid berman md
