Thank you for your question. If the area you want to shave is far from the incisions that should not be a problem. Just avoid the incisions so there is no irritation. Best of luck.Dhaval M. Patel Double Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Hoffman Estates Barrington Oakbrook Chicago Orland Park
Thank you for your question. The only limitation to shaving would depend on where the drain come out. If the drain are along the incision, then a week after surgery would be ample. If the drains are placed in the mons area, then you have to wait until those openings close.
You may want to wait a few weeks after surgery to allow for any irritation to resolve. Avoid the incision and any open areas. Be sure to shave with the growth of the hair versus against. Best wishes.

Hello, and thank you for your question. My advice is to wait until the wounds have scarred as much as possible. This way you will not have the risk of irritating or even infecting the area. However, if the wounds are far from the are you want to shave, you can do it about seven days after your surgery, just be very gentle and careful when shaving.Best of luck
I have never seen a garment “ruin” a tummy tuck result. These devices basically compress the fluid only out of the tissues. Avoid “shaping” garments as these can lead to contour problems. Garments should be tight but functional! Good luck. Dr. Aldo
Go back to your doctor sooner if possible for an evaluation. There is a chance that you have a persistent pseudobursa in your upper abdomen which is forming a seroma. Hopefully you just have persistent post op swelling which will go away with more time. I would wear your compression garment...
The down side of the fleur de lys type tummy tuck is the additional midline scar and possible wound healing problems. I have never found it necesssry to perform the fleur de lys tummy tuck so I suspect a standard tummy tuck will work just fine. I like to keep things simple.
You may want to sleep with pillows under your shoulders and under your knees to keep you in a flexed position. My patients have found it most comfortable to sleep in a recliner chair that they can adjust. Good luck.
