Oct 2013 Had mini TT and lipo. The mons pubis was not mentioned so I don't think it was lipo'ed. Aug 26 2014 I had lipo to stomach and mons pubis area. 4 months post op and my mons pubis still looks huge. I've always been a very slender girl, so I know I did not have an enlarged mons pubis before TT. I am very prone to fibrous tissue. Is this scaring or fat left behind? What can be done to improve this? I am very insecure about the appearance of this. Please help.

I generally include liposuction of the mons pubis along with abdominoplasty procedures.  Its my opinion that this should be routinely part of the procedure.  If not considered, the abdomen may be flat post operatively, but the pubis may remain enlarged.  However, not everyone needs liposuction of the pubis.  There is some normal amount of fat on the pubis of both men and women, so each case should be tailored to the individual.Also, swelling and fullness may continue for up to 9-12 months following liposuction.  At 4 months, it is too early to judge the final outcome.

Normally mons pubis liposuction in a thinner person can produce in most patients a profile below a tummy tuck incision that matches what lies above it. It does take aggressive liposuction to achieve it due to its higher fibrous tissue content. It is impossible to say based on pictures and your history to say whether it is residual fat or scar tissue. But a second effort at liposuction would likely create a flatter profile.

I usually ALWAYS suggest liposuction of the mons pubis area WITH liposuction of the lower abdomen or a tummy tuck.  In a great many cases, if the mons area is "full" to begin with, it can be hugely frustrating to patients if the lower abdomen ends up being flatter than the pubic area after liposuction of lower abdomen or a tuck.The mons pubis is a highly fibrous area that requires more effort on the surgeon's part, but great results area attainable. It's hard to say without knowing exactly what was done.  However, I've generally been able to get excellent results using liposuction alone so it's possible that not enough surgery was done.  Because it is (often) somewhat fibrous tissue, more vigorous lipo than is usually done may be required for this area and, correspondingly, more swelling, and for a more prolonged duration, can be expected.
