Is Emsculpt for everyone? Or only those who workout regularly and already have good muscle mass?

Not sure that muscle “mass” is the right term but I am wondering if emsculpt is actually for everyone? I’ve had 3 sessions on my butt now and 2 on the abs. It has done SQUAT for me! I am not a regular in the gym and definitely don’t have a good muscle definition generally speaking in my body (be it arms, legs, core anywhere). Think I might have wasted the money!!

Everyone should benefit from Emsculpt to a degree. Your provider may not have explained proper expectations in detail. You'll notice peak results anywhere between 2-6 months after treatment due to the way your body breaks down fat and builds muscle. 4 is the minimum recommended sessions, so don't give up yet! Healthy diet and exercise highly recommended as with any other non-surgical body contouring treatment as well. Emsculpt works well for almost everyone.  It is important that prospective patients be carefully examined and evalulated prior to their treatment.  It does work well on those who are not regulars in the gym, we have even found it beneficial in patients who are unable to work out because of other problems (injuries, etc.)  Although some patient may see results as early as a few weeks, the muscle building effects of Emsculpt continue for months after your last treatment.  Give it at least 2 months, at which time you should have your follow up appointment with your physician to compare before and after photos as well as having an additional "maintnenance" treatment session.  Good luck and be well.Dr. PEncino, CA

EMSculpt will cause hypercontractions of the buttocks and/or abdomen in everyone. It does take the body weeks to months to build the muscle that has been treated so the effects are not noted immediately. We have had extremely high satisfaction from our patients, so it appears to work quite well on just about everyone. Give it some time to build your muscle and discuss your concerns with your provider.

Your question is difficult to answer without an in-person evaluation or at least some pictures. In general, EMSculpt to the abdomen and buttocks requires at least 4 sessions over a 2 week span. Some people may need more. Results can take 1-2 months after your final treatment. Make sure you follow up with your treating physician to compare your before and after pictures. Best wishes.

Anyone can benefit from improved strength of their core muscles.  If you are more fit then the results may be more immediate.  However, the muscle engagement can often be seen immediately after your 4th treatment.  Then the muscle continues to improve for up to 6 months after.  Also the overlying fatty tissue on the abdomen can take up to 12 weeks to be eliminated.
Don't lose faith.  Be patient and follow up with your practitioner for regular post treatment follow up pictures to see your results.
