When you gain weight with bodybuilding you are gaining weight because you are increasing muscle mass not fat. If this is the case, you might be able to increase the muscle mass of the glutes which could increase the buttock size. A down side of bodybuilding is that you burn fat, so you might loose buttock size. Buttock implant are a good way to increase the buttock size permanently without having to worry about fluctuations in size.

Thanks for the great question! The great thing about liposuction is that it permanently removes the fat. Some patients think that as they gain weight, the fat now goes preferentially to other ares of the body, but that's not the case. Once you gain weight after liposuction the fat will go to all of the areas it usually went to. However, the areas the underwent liposuction will gain a disproportionate amount of fat compared to the areas that did not have liposuction. So to answer your question, your abdominal fat should not come back to the same degree as the fat in your buttocks if you gain weight not after surgery. All patients are different though and many people have areas of the body where they preferentially gain fat. I hope this helps!~Dr. Sieber
