From a technical point of view, it makes no difference whatsoever when you have your surgery. The only important deciding factor should be your own personal life, including your family and work related responsibilities. Pick a time that suits you best. Nothing else matters.I hope this helps!Dr. Robert Shenker. MD FRCSC
Thank you for your question.Patients commonly ask me when is the best time for certain procedures. My response is always "when it is a good time for you as the patient." All procedures have a downtime for healing in which your activities will be restricted. So it is best to plan the surgery when you can afford to have the downtime. If the summer allows you time off of work or is a slow time that several weeks of healing is affordable, then that's the time to do it. We surgeons do all of our procedures year round so it won't make any difference to us as long as you can spend the time to heal properly.I hope this helps.
