Is it normal for one breast to drop before the other? Will they even out? (photos)

Hi and thank you for your question.. It is not uncommon for  breasts to drop at different rates. It can take up to 6 months for the breasts to drop and settle into position. Continue to follow your post op instructions and contact your surgeon with any concerns. Best wishes.

Hello and thank you for your question and photos. It is very common to have one implant drop earlier then the other. It is best to judge implant symmetry at around 6 months. I know it's a long time to wait but that is how long it takes sometimes for the implants to settle into the right position. At 24 days, I don't think you should worry about the asymmetry. After placement of implants, the overall appearance of the breasts will change dramatically over the next several months, as the implants drop, and the overlying tissue stretches to accommodate the extra volume. At 24 days your implants appear to be settling, with your right having dropped a bit sooner than your left. This is very common. I would anticipate your left breast implant to follow suit within the next several weeks. I know waiting is difficult, but judge your results at 4-6 months after surgery as most of your breast changes should have occurred by then.  Hope this helps.

It typically takes 3 - 6 months for the swelling to subside and and implants to settle into proper position. Please discuss your concerns with your board certified plastic surgeon. Also, make sure you follow all of your plastic surgeons post-operative instructions regarding level of physical activity and use of a support bra. Hope this helps and good luck with your recovery.

You are still early after surgery and full settling takes some time. You might want to try some implant massaging on the higher side as this may help speed up the process

Thanks for the question and the photos. While implants can drop at different rates, Inhavr found that you need to be aggressive for them to truly catch up. Massaging can help. A stabilizing band can also help. You should follow up closely with your plastic surgeon who can offer this type of instruction. 

Hello! The implant can drop at different rates... and sometimes I use ace wraps to nudge things along.... and also it can be done with the bras... When an implant is too high, I like to use an ACE wrap across the top of both to help nudge the implant down.... good luck!

Implants can drop at different rates. It will take 6-9 months to appreciate your final results. If a noticeable asymmetry exists at that point you may consider a revision.
