Can I get a rhinoplasty if I have hyper-mobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome?

Question

I have long been considering several cosmetic procedures, including a rhinoplasty for functional and appearance purposes, but I have hyper-mobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. I worry that because of my disorder doctors would not operate on me. In the past I have only had Botox, fillers and micro needling done without issue. For surgical context, I recently had a laparoscopy that I eventually healed well from.

Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, and the criteria for this diagnosis have changed significantly over the past 5 years. In fact, many people who were diagnosed with EDS in the past because they had hypermobile joints, no longer fit the criteria. We have had such an experience and performed successful rhinoplasty surgery without incident. This however was at the discretion of our patient's EDS specialist. I have used firmed surgery on enough patients with Ehlers Danlos to know that it won’t present a problem with a rhinoplasty. Good luck!

Yes indeed, you can certainly get a rhinoplasty with Ehlers Danlos syndrome, and it should have no effect on the rhinoplasty procedure.
