Is the Clear and Brilliant Permea the same as Fraxel laser?

Clear and Brilliant is a "mini"-Fraxel and has no down time.  There are two pieces - the Clear and Brilliant hand piece and the newer Permea hand piece which treats primarily pigmentation.  Perm is a very gentle treatment and it can take at least six Permea treatments to equal the result on one Fraxel treatment.  Fraxel is a fabulous laser but unfortunately many providers have been using it for the wrong type skin and causing side effects.  Please consult an expert in lasers and skin rejuvenation for the best cosmetic results. Clear and Brilliant Permea is not the same laser as Fraxel, though the two are similar.  Think of Clear and Brilliant as a more gentle version of Fraxel, which is effective at preventing the signs of aging and creating younger healthier looking skin.  As Clear and Brilliant targets the upper layers of the skin, it may not be able to remove deeper lines, wrinkles and scars like Fraxel.  That being said, if the right laser is used with the appropriate settings by a trained medical professional, it should only help a patient’s skin condition.  Be sure to research your provider beforehand. 

Both Clear + Brilliant Permea and Fraxel are based by Solta and both are fractionated lasers. I like to describe Clear + Brilliant as a "mini" or "baby" Fraxel. It lower intensity version of Fraxel. Both are great lasers.
