What procedure would be best to shorten philtrum and add volume to lips? (photos)

Question

I realized that it's my long philtrum throwing things off on my face ( well the main thing). What would be the best procedure philtrum which may be 15 or 16 cm (ugh!!). It's 10 when I smile. :-). Are there any procedures that can be performed from under the lip to prevent visible scarring? Would it pull down the nose? I like the position of my nose. I do not want synthetic fillers. Could my own fat be a good option? If it's 15/16 cm at 44 years, it may be 25 + by the time I'm 90!

You can get a lip lift procedure to decrease this area but often I find these do not look that great.  Get a formal evaluation to determine what is best.  Dr. Emer.

Lip shortening and filler for the red part of the lip? This is a very common procedure in my practice for both females and transgender patients. The lip can be shortened with the scission inside the nose which will not distort the nose. Fat can be concentrated and placed in your lips at the same time. look at photos on my website as well as others.

Shortening the upper lip is a very straight forward procedure. Fat transfer is an excellent method to add volume to the lips.

Through certainly has a well describe procedure for lip shortening which is basically what you're asking for it.Fillers is not the procedure of choice to decrease your philtral column.I know of one plastic surgeon in San Francisco who does this on a regular basis and is supremely talented.I would be happy to forward his name if you contact me directly.Real self does not like us to name other plastic surgeons in our posts.The procedure does make incisions on the skin.When done well the incisions fade out nicely and are barely visible.Much of this depends on who does the procedure and the skin color of the patient.Typically fair skinned Caucasians tend to heal with minimally or almost invisible scars.All the very best,Mats Hagstrom M.D.
