Can I be anesthetized while getting cheek and lip fillers?

Thanks for your question.  The issue isn't so much if this could be done; it certainly is possible to use some form of sedation to accomplish your filler injections.  The real question is whether or not this is advisable, and whether or not you can find a physician who will be willing to do this for you. General anesthesia is not without its own risks, so not all physicians will feel comfortable using it in this setting.  In my personal practice, we have never had the need to use sedation or general anesthesia for lip or cheek filler treatments as it really isn't that uncomfortable for the patient.
