Miradry does not affect the breast tissue and is limited to the axillary sweat glands. You should have no problems with the breast implants upon undergoing Miradry. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles
Yes. Using miradry is safe with breast implants. I will use the NuBra on those patients to keep the breasts out of harms way. Nice little trick!
miraDry and breast implants are safe to do. I would make sure with the physical exam that the implant is not too close to the axillary tissue. If it is, I would definitely add some more anesthetic tumescent solution to provide a greater buffer between the implant and the skin. If you are concerned, I would go to a board-certified plastic surgeon who also uses miraDry like we have in our practice.
We have treated many female patients with breast implants, both saline and silicone. It is safe and does not injure the implant or silicone. For women with small implants, the implant is far from the treatment area. For women with larger implants, we will hold the implant out of the way during the treatment. I would recommend a plastic surgeon to do the miraDry treatment because they will be more familiar with the depth that they are performing the numbing injections, as well as the location of the implant to avoid any harm.
Provided you see an experienced medical miraDry practitioner there should be no problems. Most implants are mobile and, while they do not extend into the axillary area, can be easily pushed even further away from the treatment zone. Sub-pectoral implants may be less mobile so extra care is required to make sure they implant is eased out of the way.
The procedure should be safe dependant on the technique of the person performing the procedure. The implant can be displaced medially to ensure it is out of the treatment field and away from any needle punctures.See someone familiar with breast implants so they understand the position of the implant when doing the procedure.
I have done hundreds and never had a problem with implants, saline or silicone.Implants do not extend that far into the axilla and furthermore the energy is skin deep (literally) and with additional tumescent anesthesia technique that we use, it would be extremely unlikely for it to penetrate deep enough to cause a problem. Make sure you see someone who has experience with miraDry.Read my miraDry book on the link below.
As a Dermatologist I concur with the Plastics Panel. We have performed over 100 miraDry treatments, including many in patients with implants. I would use the tumescent technique, standard in our numbing protocols regardless, and also displace implants towards the centre, if needed. A careful examination and planning, as per all miraDry patients should make this an uncomplicated and uneventful procedure.RegardsDr Davin LimLaser and Aesthetic DermatologistBRISBANE, Australia
Thank you for your question. Your armpits should return to normal after the miraDry procedure, however it is very likely that you will have some armpit hair loss, which is often seen as a positive outcome for many patients.
Botox can be a good alternative while miradry is being approved for use in those areas. Botox prevents the nerves from telling the sweat glands to produce sweat and odor. Hope that helps!
Hello and thank you for your question. From the looks of your photo, it seems like you are experiencing normal swelling following your miraDry treatment. The discomfort that you feel when lifting your arms is also very common, due to the high level of energy that is delivered to destroy the ...
