1 week post op Miradry, is it normal? (photos)

How long time the swelling remans? I had my first procedure last week. Now, I'm not sweating, but there is swelling like a cushions and a little pain like a shock, principally when I lift my arms. Is it normal?

Hello and thank you for your question. From the looks of your photo, it seems like you are experiencing normal swelling following your miraDry treatment. The discomfort that you feel when lifting your arms is also very common, due to the high level of energy that is delivered to destroy the sweat and odor glands. Manage it with ibuprofen and/or Tylenol and allow 4 weeks for these side effects to completely subside. You can certainly have swelling in lumps that can persist more than a week after the miraDry procedure. Typically these to resolve with time. The degree of lumps and swelling vary with the amount of energy that has been delivered.

firmness and tenderness in the underarm area is normal after therapy. Swelling can last anywhere between 2 to 4 weeks and there have been cases where it can migrate down towards the waistline and chest. With time these cases have been resolved and the swelling and pain went away as the patients healed. Given your photos, however, I'd see your doctor asap to be sure you're healing is normal.
