Depending on how your collagen scars developed, recommendations for removing them may be varied. If you have red inflamed scars, there must be at least 6 to 12 months from your procedure to allow the inflammation to settle. Otherwise any intervention may only aggravate the situation. If the scars are mature and without inflammation, you may want to consider re-excision, carboxytherapy, microneedling, or laser modalities to decrease their visibility by collagen reorganization. If you are concerned with internal scarring of the subcutaneous space that has created ripples and dimples, this is a bit more complex and use of Endermologie, subcision, or even stem cell modalities may help. If your scars are hypertrophic or keloid in nature, then be sure to consult with a qualified plastic surgeon before attempting any intervention as they are notorious for recurrence or worsening.
