Can the iliac crest or "Adonis Belt" be contoured with Liposuction of the Flanks? (Photo)

Hi, I'm wondering if the lilac crest or Adonis Belt can be contoured with lipo of the flanks on a man body. I can feel my iliac crest under a layer of fat. I'm not overweight, but even with dieting and exercise I can't manage to have this adonis belt. I'm specifically talking about the shadow on each side not necessarily on the front. I know it has a lot to do with genetics. I can feel my iliac crest under a layer of fat. Thank you for your input!

I would really have to feel the bulging that you have above the iliac crest area to see how much subcutaneous fat is contributing to the bulge. In a body builder, the bulge is related to the external oblique muscle hypertrophy and the shadow is produced by the  adhesion of the subcutaneous tissues to the iliac crest. If fat is palpated under the skin , liposuction with a very fine cannula could improve the bulge. Potentially fat could be injected in the depression over the iliac crest to improve the shadow. These statements could only be validated after an examination.

Simon.   Photographs or physical exam would be helpful, but it sounds like Micro-Liposuction is the best option for the situation that you are describing. Smaller cannulas allow more exact contouring of areas with modest amount of fat. Be certain to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon. Good luck

The Adonis Belt area can be treated with liposuction.  As you know, definition in this area requires a lot of focused muscular development, as well as a low body fat percentage.  If there remains localized fat in this area, liposuction can help to provide further definition.  Best of Luck!

Unfortunately there are no pictures. In order to definitively answer your question you would need a physical exam by a board certified plastic surgeon. Having said that, liposuction is a good tool in order to suction fat from the body. It is not uncommon for me to suction fat over the area that you mentioned. There are different techniques that are available. A relatively new high tech liposuction machine is called the Vibrastat. I’ve been very impressed with the results.
