Is this a third degree burn post liposuction? (Photo)

Thank you for your question. Without knowing what type of liposuction was performed, it is difficult to say if it is in fact a burn BUT there is definite deep partial (2nd degree) skin loss. It could be due to laser vs. ultrasound or could be seen with standard lipo and aggressive technique. No matter what the cause, you should be seen and proper wound care started. 

It appears from your photograph that you have an area of skin necrosis that needs to be tended to. Send this photo to your  Plastic Surgeon’s office and demand to be seen today! If not, seek out  second opinion from a board certified plastic surgeon. With proper wound care this should heal, but it does need attention now.
