How tight should the garment be post liposuction? And is it necessary to keep tightening it?

Everyone has a slightly different protocol. I have my patients where a compression garment for 3 months after liposuction. In the first 2 weeks, it’s to prevent the buildup a fluid (seromas). After that, it is to reduce swelling and improve contour. I usually resize my patients at 2 weeks because the compression garment they had after surgery is loose. Sounds like your surgeon is on the right track. 

Thank you Natalia123 for your questions.  I typically tell my patients to wear tight compression garments but not too tight. You should feel comfortable wearing them.  In regards to the lymphatic massages each surgeon has his or her thoughts on that I would follow the instructions that your surgeon has given to you.  

Avoid very tight garments as they may cause complications. Think about tightness of underclothes and go no tighter than that.
