Could my nose that looks too “straight” and weird after revision rhinoplasty be swelling? (Photo)

Hi. I’m 10 days out of surgery and I feel like my nose is too straight. I asked my surgeon for a slope and to make my nose “cuter” but I think it just looks weird now and there is no slope, just straight. Could this be swelling or is this how my nose is going to be shaped. This was my 2nd rhinoplasty and I really dont wanna go for a third one. Any help? Thanks :(

Hello, thank you for he question and provided information. You can take some comfort as with 2 weeks post-op you have swelling at almost top level. They will go down as the nose heals and it takes at least one to see final result. During your healing phase you need to complete follow up your PS and given instructions.Best Regards,

I would not worry-- patients are usually quite swollen for 2 weeks following rhinoplasty, and even then as the major swelling goes down, the residual swelling that can take up to a year to resolve can really affect how the nose appears, including s straight vs gently curved profile. I think your profile looks nice as it is, but as the edema resolves and the skin envelope shrink wraps to the underlying structure, you will see more shape. Best of luck!

Based on your single profile photo, you appear to have a pleasing and cute nasal profile. Don't worry. I suspect you will not need further surgery. Everyone is very swollen only 10 days postoperative.  Hope this helps you. Dr Joseph

Ten days after surgery there is still significant swelling.  It is too early to tell whether it will remain straight or the slope will be more defined.  Make sure to speak with your surgeon about your concerns, and he/she will be able to tell you what to expect.
