I've always blamed my nose for my bad profile, and done so much to try and hide it, making sure people never see me from the side. I have lately figured out, though, that my profile might actually look ugly because my mouth is weird after i Took off my braces. My lips have different sizes on each side, and everytime i look in the mirror i see this long and ugly nose, and my nose also look smaller close in the mirror, but faraway it looks long and huge. What to you think?
Answer: Rhinoplasty and Perfection You have to understand that there is no such thing as the “perfect” nose. As rhinoplasty surgeons, we are able to improve the structure and function of the nose to address specific issues you have with how your nose looks and and how well you can breathe. Perfect symmetry does not exist in nature. Attempts to improve the symmetry of your nose should be aimed at achieving an improvement in your asymmetry to the point where it is no longer very noticeable. If you look carefully enough, you will always be able to find imperfections. The goal is a normal looking nose that is in harmony with the rest of your anatomy.

Answer: Rhinoplasty Candidacy Find comfort knowing that your nose can be reshaped to create the profile you desire. The distance between the tip of the nose and the base should ideally equal the distance from the base to the upper lip. The most ideal angle between the nose and the upper lip, also called the nasolabial angle, should be between 95 to 110-degrees. The base of the nose should fall within the plane of two lines drawn perpendicular from the inner aspect of each eye. The above is what is considered the ideal proportion for the nose. This is going to be individual for each person. In order to know exactly what you would look like once your nose has been improved, we can show you using state of the art computer programs that we use.I suggest you consult a board certified facial plastic surgeon to receive the highest quality knowledge, treatment, care and skill available. A consultation provides you the opportunity to relay your concerns and desired outcome to the surgeon while the surgeon can assess your health profile and discuss his/her pertinent advice.

Answer: Rhinoplasty and chin implant candidate The photographs demonstrate an overly projecting nose, and an under projecting chin. The combination of a rhinoplasty and chin implant would help significantly with facial balance and proportions. A closed rhinoplasty procedure can accomplish decreasing the projection of the nose, narrowing the tip, and narrowing the bridge line. A chin implant can be inserted at the same time to give added projection to the chin to help with facial proportions, especially with respect to the overly projecting nose. Chin implants are composed of Silastic, are inserted through a submental approach which enables an augmentation of the chin. Both procedures can be performed together or separately depending upon the patient's desires. For many examples of this combination, please see the link and the video below

Answer: Nose too long I think a rhinoplasty might be a great operation for you, after a discussion with a specialist. Occasionally the nose is a bit disproportionate for the face, and basic rhinoplasty maneuvers can help improve the appearance of the nose. Most commonly we perform rasping (shaving) of the hump of the nose and tip maneuvers to refine and narrow the nasal tip. Combined with septoplasty these basic maneuvers can help shorten the nose a bit. As you point out , the lips, chin and mouth can also change the aesthetics of the nose in relation to the face. Good luck and hope this helps!
