Is my nose too long for my face? (Photo)

You have to understand that there is no such thing as the “perfect” nose. Perfect symmetry does not exist in nature. Attempts to improve the symmetry of your nose should be aimed at achieving an improvement in your asymmetry to the point where it is no longer very noticeable.  The photographs demonstrate an overly projecting nose, and an under projecting chin. The combination of a rhinoplasty and chin implant would help significantly with facial balance and proportions. A  closed rhinoplasty procedure can accomplish decreasing the projection of the nose, narrowing the tip, and narrowing the bridge line. A chin implant can be inserted at the same time to give added projection to the chin to help with facial proportions, especially with respect to the overly projecting nose. Chin implants are composed of Silastic, are inserted through a submental approach which enables an augmentation of the chin. I think a rhinoplasty might be a great operation for you, after a discussion with a specialist.  Occasionally the nose is a bit disproportionate for the face, and basic rhinoplasty maneuvers can help improve the appearance of the nose.  Most commonly we perform rasping (shaving) of the hump of the nose and tip maneuvers to refine and narrow the nasal tip.  Combined with septoplasty these basic maneuvers can help shorten the nose a bit. As you point out , the lips, chin and mouth can also change the aesthetics of the nose in relation to the face.  Good luck and hope this helps!

The nose is not long. The nose is large. There is a difference. Your nose projects too much from your face, tip is broad and your chin is recessive. A reduction rhinoplasty and chin implant should create proper harmony and beauty that you desire.
