I have bad skin after Rhinoplasty. Any suggestions?

I had rhinoplasty surgery 17 days ago and the skin on my nose is still awful! Pimples galore and I can't squeeze them cause my Nose is still very tender. And it's also quite dry and flakey at th same time! Has anyone else had this problem and have any idea how to fix it?? I've tried Manuka honey, savlon, coconut oil, toothpaste nothing seems to help. Any suggestions appreciated!

Hello and thank you for your question.  It is very normal to develop pimples and dry skin after the splint has been removed in the postoperative period.  Moisturizer lotion may help the dry skin.  The biggest help is simply time--with time your skin will get much better.  I recommend that you return to see your surgeon, as he/she will have a good idea of what to expect in regards to your specific progress, since they can evaluate you in relation to your preoperative appearance.Best wishes and good luck.

Your skin is irritated from the recent Rhinoplasty procedure. Vaseline is a soothing substance that should help to reduce some of the irritation you are experience. I suggest you review your recovery guidelines provided by your surgeon. You should have received a call from your surgeon after your surgery - typical practice for us as we find it is the kind, polite and helpful follow-up to address such concerns as you are experiencing. Feel free to schedule a follow-up appointment with your surgeon as well.
