A couple doctors said that a SOOF lift is necessary in order to prevent complications that negative vector eyes are prone to when removing lower eye lid fat pads during blepharoplasty. What is a SOOF, is it really necessary, and how will it prevent complications for negative vector eyes?
Answer: Don't drink the koolaid! I am in the business of fixing individuals like yourself after they talked into SOOF lifts. These are hugely problematic. Naturally I do a SOOF lift to fix issues created by these surgeries. You have not post enough pictures to really have any sort of opinion about what you need surgically. However, the few pictures you have posted on other questions show that you have very thin lower eyelid skin. This type of skin does not do well with this type of surgical work. I recommend that you post better and more complete eye pictures if you really want to hear an independent opinion from the Realself community. Do not rush into a SOOF lift. Less is more.

Answer: SOOF lift Hello and thank you for your question. A SOOF lift is a mid-face lift that gives support to the lower eyelids during a lower blepharoplasty. This kind of lift is not necessary for having a successful lower blepharoplasty. Schedule an in-person consultation with a board-certified facial plastic surgeon in your area for a full examination and discussion of your needs. You may benefit from a lower blepharoplasty with fat repositioning alone without having to consider a SOOF lift. Only an in-person examination and consultation with a board-certified facial plastic surgeon can lead to an accurate recommendation for your course of treatment. Good luck! - Jacqueline T. Cheng

Answer: SOOF lift Thank you for your very insightful question. SOOF lift refers to essentially a mid face lift done at the time of the lower eyelid blepharoplasty. This can be very helpful and restoring the volume of the mid face and supporting the lower lid during the lift. Because this procedure adds to the support of the lower eyelid it can lead to fewer complications involving the lower eyelid malposition. I hope this helps. Good luck!

Answer: SOOF lift SOOF left is a type of mid face lift that can give the lower eyelid support when you have a negative vector. It is difficult from the photographs to tell if you are a candidate for this but an evaluation by an eyelet specialist would be recommended . Hope this helps.
