Dog ear 3 months after lateral canthopexy (Photo)

Question

Hi I did a partial incision blepharoplasty with lateral canthoplexy. Loving the result except for the small SCD on my left eye that started to show from 3rd week. I have been using strataderm scar gel and massaging it for a month as doc instruction. Will this go away by itself or should I do revision or steroid injection? Just want a second opinion

Dear (daughter of moon, Singapore, SG),Thank you for you question and sharing your photographs. This should settle with time. This is still rather early in your recovery. Scar gel, massage are good suggestions. I would add to that some sunblock to help prevent pigmentation. From the picture, it looks like this could be from a knot due to a buried suture or a scar. Some steroids may help it to settle faster. Speak to you surgeon and see what he thinks. Thank you for your question. You are very early in the healing time; (usually one year) to your surgeon. . Your scar could benefit from some corticosteroid injection along with the massage. Voice your concerns to your surgeon. They want you to have the best possible result

That is a small raised scar - may be due to a buried suture.  An injection of a weak steroid should be able to flatten this.
