I am having fat grafting to the lines around my mouth. What limitations are there in recovery?

One concern is that I have asthma and use inhalers daily. I'm sure years of using inhalers caused most of these "smoker" lines, even though I never smoked. Will I have to limit the use of unhalers while I am healing from surgery.

Thank you for your question.Frist of all, you should continue your asthma medication.In my experience, fat grafting to lines around the mouth tends to get absorbed much readily with less than great result. A combination of HA and Ablative Laser treatment such as Sciton Profractional Laser treatment around peri-oral area gives you great results. however, if you are getting liposuction done or having other part of your face rejuvenated with fat transfer than it's not a bad idea to treat peri-oral lines. You need to keep using your inhalers.  Are you having fat in other areas too?  Fat injections into the mouth lines are tough.  It is easier to fill in small lines with the HA fillers.  Fat in this area can be lumpy, or can create an overcorrection.  The large amount of movement here may also make it resorb quickly.  Did you discuss laser with your doctor?  MIght be a good option

Please check with your surgeon as well as your primary care doctor or allergist.While limiting movement in the areas treated is generally a good idea after fat transfer, we have to use our mouths.
