Had implants removed 1 week ago after only having them for 11 weeks, and I'm devastated! Will my shape improve?

33 yrs 5ft2 46kg and had natrelle implants 295cc put in 11 weeks ago under muscle I suffered with depression and anxiety so surgeon kindly removed for no charge no lift or capsule removed. I am now a week after removal and devastated I'm just a puddle of loose skin, an AA bra is too big for me now and no sign of improvement. I think I should of downsized instead of removing. Is there any hope for improvement or how long would I have to wait to have another surgery to put in a small implant

Thank you for your question. It would be difficult to give an absolute answer of how they will turn out.  You are very early in the post operative course. Your implants have not been in long, so that is in your favor.  It will take several months to see the final result. The answers to your questions depend on a variety of factors.  How large are your implants?  What is your skin like?  Do you have ptosis?  How long have the implants been in?  This will help determine if you need a lift or not. There are options for the different types of incision lines as well.  Downsizing , in your case placing a smaller implant than previous might be an option.  Please tell your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon your concerns.  Together you will find a solution.Jeffrey J. The shape should improve since you only had your implants for 11 weeks.  It will take 6 months at least.

Thank you for your question.  More than likely what you see is your outcome after removal of large implants.  Having an implant in the breast envelope more than likely stretched your skin to accommodate the implant and now the implant has been removed you are left with excess skin.  In my practice I counsel patients to wait at least 3-4 months before going back to surgery to avoid a hasty decision.  Good luck.

I know it's hard to be patient, but you are much too early in your recovery to judge your results.  Because you had conservatively sized implants in for a short time you should have good skin retraction.  If after several months you are still unhappy you can visit with your surgeon to explore options.  Until then continue to closely follow your surgeon's post op instructions for the best results.

Your tissue has been stretched to accommodate the implants, and probably will not tighten. I would suggest waiting at least 3-4 months to let your tissues heal from two surgeries, and the swelling subside. If then you are still unhappy, please then sit down with your surgeon and realistically discuss what you want. The original size you selected was not what you wanted.

Yes, explantation will cause a change in the original shape of the breast and may lead to loose skin and sagging. You need to wait 3-4 months minimum for things to settle down.

going back and forth between breast augmentation and practically within short time did an explant of the breast explant, and now you want a breast implant again. You will be better served medically and psychologically to be under the care of a psychiatrist to help you with body image.
