hello. 4 days before I had a nose job. I am tooooo much swollen more than everyone I've ever seen In pics.i had an open rhinoplasty and my doctor said he wasn't going to make my nose more norrow because that would make some scars outside the nose .yesterday I took off the tampons I had inside my nose and my nostrils are huge even though he said he didn't touch them. but he lifted the tip. my nostrils were small and not shown ... do you think that he made anything wrong ? but I'm soooooo ugly ..

Marialenrino,I advise you to be patient with your results. Four days is very early to determine your final appearance because there is a tremendous amount of swelling and bruising in your face. Your nostrils may appear large now but I believe with time they will begin to look more normal. As time continues you will see more changes and hopefully results that make you happy.Hope this helps!Dr. Ali Sajjadian

At 4 days after an open rhinoplasty, the nose is swollen.  This is not the time to start worrying about the final appearance as the nose is going to change dramatically over the next few months.  If you had nasal tampons in your nose, they will likely make your nostrils appear large.I would continue to follow your post operative instruction and let your nose heal.

Thank you for the question and sharing the photograph. At only four days, it is impossible to say what the final result will be. At this point I would recommend being patient and seeing your surgeon regularly for follow-up visits. Occasionally, when the tip of the nose is de-projected the nostrils can "flare" out a little bit. Some surgeons will reduce the size of the nostrils immediately (at the time of rhinoplasty) while others prefer to allow the swelling to settle before making a decision about reducing the nostril size. But again, it's too early to tell.
