Am I a good a candidate for Kybella to define my saggy jawline? I'm 45 years old, 5 feet tall and 102lbs, I exercise 4/5 days a week. I was recommended Kybella but one Dr but another second opinion told me no, that what I need it was PDO treads. Don't want to end up with loose skin after the treatment. I also read Kybella can cause nerve damages specially in that particular area I was told to treat which make me very nervous. (I've done Nova treads and Exilis before with not good results).
Answer: Morpheus 8 Hi @Creative594571. I recommend Morpheus 8. Morpheus8 is a non-surgical treatment for full body skin resurfacing, skin tightening, and fat reduction of stubborn areas. It uses minimally invasive fractional radiofrequency energy (RF) to penetrate the skin deeper than other microneedling devices, triggering the skin’s natural healing response to promote skin tightening and lifting. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!

Answer: Morpheus8 Kybella is currently approved for use in the submandibular (under chin) region, so I would not recommend using it to your areas of concern. While PDO threads may help lift the region to reduce the appearance of jowls, radiofrequency microneedling via Morpheus8 will help to target the region by reducing fat and tightening the skin. This will diminish the jowls, and results will gradually appear in the 3-6 months post treatment. Going forward, I would complete multiple in office assessments with board certified experts to discuss your aesthetic goals. This way, they can craft the ideal treatment plan to suit your needs. Best of luck! Kian Karimi MD, FACS

Answer: Best treatments to correct a sagging jawline What I am seeing in your photos is an accumulation of submental fat under the chin combined with skin laxity that is leading to the jowl formation. I believe you might benefit from a combination of chin liposuction to remove the fat and a skin-tightening treatment like ThermiTight to tighten up loose skin under the chin and along the jawline. These two treatments can be performed at the same time and leave almost no visible scarring. Recovery is typically just a few days and the results are both dramatic and long-lasting. Make sure you work with an experienced, board-certified dermatologist with extensive training in these procedures to ensure an optimal outcome.

Answer: Nonsurgical skin tightening may be better option I don’t believe Kybella in the jowls and lower face would be helpful for you - in fact, it could lead to more skin laxity. A nonsurgical skin-tightening treatment like ThermiTight might be your best option for addressing the loose skin and improving definition along the jawline. If submental fat under the chin is also a problem, as some of your photos suggest, I would recommend a bit of liposuction to remove the fat. The two procedures can be performed in the same session for excellent, long-lasting results. Make sure you work with a board-certified dermatologist with extensive training in this type of chin contouring to ensure the best possible results.

Answer: Treating skin laxity: Best options Treatments to remove stubborn fat, such as Kybella or liposuction, will only make the skin laxity worse. In your case, a treatment to address both the fat deposits and the sagging skin will produce the best result. The best option for you is likely a lower face and neck lift that can accomplish both of these goals in a single surgery. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia and recovery is 1-2 weeks. However, the results are both dramatic and long lasting. Make sure you work with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon to ensure an optimal outcome.
