Had my surgery on Jan. 27th, 2015. I had 700cc high profile under the muscle. I want to know if this is normal. My left breast is healing great, my right breast had been the stubbern of the two sence day one. Do they look normal and is it ok for them to heal at different times. I see a big difference between the two and yes it bothers me..
Answer: 700cc under the muscle. How long before my right breast catches up with my left? 9 weeks post op. Thank you for your question. You’re very early in the recovery phase from breast implant surgery. Over the next few weeks your breasts will change. Final results take 6 months. I would expect some asymmetry by looking at your preop photo. Discuss your concerns with your plastic surgeon.

Answer: 700cc under the muscle. How long before my right breast catches up with my left? 9 weeks post op. Congratulations on having undergone the breast augmentation procedure. Generally speaking, breast implants will "drop" into the pocket that was created during surgery and massaging the implants downward may assist in the dropping of the implants after surgery (for those patients who want to help with the settling of the implants). The rate of breast implant "settling" may depend on factors such as size of breast implant pocket dissected, tightness of the overlying skin/muscle layers, and size of breast implant utilized. Normally, it takes about 3-6 months (for some patients longer) to see the final result. It is very common for one side to settle faster than the other. Sometimes, one or both breasts implants do not settle as planned and revisionary breast surgery becomes necessary to improve the outcome. On other occasions, if the long-term breast asymmetry is mild ( understanding that absolute symmetry is very rarely achieved), patients will need to decide whether proceeding with revisionary breast surgery is worth the potential downsides associated with additional surgery. Again, best to follow your plastic surgeon for more specifics. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be pleased with long-term.

Answer: Healing and swelling differently is the norm All breasts when compared one to the other is slightly different with regards to healing, swelling, discomfort, and appearance. This is normal. After thousands of implants, this is exactly what I tell my patients to expect. Most often is that there is no clinical reason, other than our ability to compare one side to the other. The photos appear fine.

Answer: Differential healing is common It can be different from one side to the other without any particular problem. It can take 6 months for things to even out. If it is necessary, sometimes we see the patients every week to make sure that things are healing the way they should and to reinforce the massage techniques.

Answer: How long before my right breast catches up with my left? Thanks for sharing your photos. I encourage you to speak directly with the plastic surgeon who performed your procedure. Based on your pictures, I think you have a pretty result. It is hard from a 2-d photo to see the nuance. It is rare to have perfectly symmetrical breasts, and I like to tell my patients to think of their breasts as sisters, not twins because there will always be small differences. Please also remember that when going from very small to much larger it can take six months to a year for the breasts to really settle. Your skin also needs time to settle and there can be huge differences in how the breasts settle out. I also encourage you to speak directly with the plastic surgeon that performed your procedure. Best of luck.
