Is it normal after tummy tuck for vagina to be black and blue?

Without knowing exactly what you had done or a photo, it is very difficult to answer your question. It is not uncommon to get bruising ans swelling of the labia majora (the outer part of the genitalia), especially if liposuction of the mons pubis was performed at the same time.  You should still contact your plastic surgeon and express your concerns, as this could also be from a hematoma.  Therefore, call your doctor and go see them if necessary to rule out something more concerning.  It's always better to be safe than sorry. 

It is common for labia in women and the scrotum in males to become bruised, black and blue, after a tummy tuck. The simple explanation is that even a few drops of deep blood move down fascial planes with gravity and lymphatic flow to this area. It will resolve in most cases rather promptly. This may be normal as there is some degree of bruising in the area. None of us can accurately address this concern of yours because we have no idea of what exactly was done. It is best to call your surgeon and speak directly to him/her...or better yet, set up an appointment to be seen directly by your surgeon.

It could certainly be normal to have some bruising after a tummy tuck and it would be normal for some of the bruising to include the area of the genitalia. But the bruising and swelling should improve with time and the bruising is mostly if not completely resolved after about 10-14 days. If you have any concerns that your bruising or swelling seems abnormal though, a quick visit to your surgeon can clarify the situation.

Yes, it is normal.  Swelling and blood will settle downwards due to gravity so your pubic area may become swollen and bruised.  It should go away as you continue to heal.  ac  

Yes, this is completely normal after abdominoplasty. There can be settling of blood pigments in the pubic mons area and vagina. This can cause the area to appear bruised, and this can occur occasionally.  It should resolve in 2 to 3 weeks. Swelling of the areas may persist for a longer period.

Yes. This is completely normal. Blood within the tissues will follow all the laws of gravity and will seek the lowest point. If you are up and walking around a lot, the blood will migrate down to the lowest point, sometimes in to the pubic region, sometimes into the upper thigh region. Bruising in the pubic region is from the blood and fluids seeping into the tissue of the pubic area. It is within the range of a normal postoperative appearance. And should resolve with time.

Gravity pulls swelling and bruising downward towards the 'capture' region of the lower pubic and labia/vaginal area in women early on after a tummy tuck or liposuction. After several weeks, this bruising will go completely away.
