When can you color hair again after an endoscopic brow lift?

We usually have patients wiat at least 8 weeks after their surgery before coloring their hair. We give this timeframe out of an abundance of caution given the harsh chemicals that are used in most hair coloring solutions.

2-3 weeks is best to wait after brow lifting to allow for the incisions to heal
completely. It is important to wait a sufficient amount of time so that the
hair coloring does not get in the incision site and cause any infection.

Thank you for your question. Usually in 3-4 weeks, the incision is healed well enough to have color change performed. Just be sure to avoid the formaldehyde versions of hair coloring. I hope this helps!

The incisions must be fully healed, this is usually at about the two week time point after surgery.  Thereafter, hair coloring is fine.

I utilize ultratines and five incisions for brow lifting.  I recommend 4 weeks for coloring hair following endoscopic brow lifts, and six weeks following traditional face lifting.

Typically, I tell my patients to wait until the incisions are healed before getting their hair colored.  The chemicals and dyes used to color the hair can be irritating to the incisions.  The wait time should be between 2-3 weeks, but it is important to talk to your surgeon to make sure that they are happy with the way things are healing and ask them what they recommend about getting your hair colored.

We generally ask patients to wait until the incisions are completely healed, meaning there is no crusting or scabbing still present.  This takes 2-3 weeks.  If you have any questions, ask your surgeon to check the incisions beforehand.

In our practice, we tell patient  it is acceptable the undergo hair color 2 weeks after a brow lift procedure.
