Can I still have a breast lift with implants if I have a VP shunt?

I had a VP shunt placed when I was 17 about 13 years ago for hydrocephalus I had the revision of the shuny in 2020. I am looking into having cosmetic surgery. I wanted to know if I will be able to have a breast lift with implants since I have a VP shunt?

The first thing would be to get clearance with your neurosurgeon. However, I see no reason why you could not have a breast augmentation with a breast lift if you have a prior, well healed, functioning VP shunt.   Best wishes.

   Your desired surgery can definitely be performed as long as your Neurologist or Neurosurgeon examine you and clear you for surgery. 
   Always, consult with experienced board certified plastic surgeons who operate in accredited surgery center for your safety. Most importantly, check the photo gallery of breasts augmentation with lift to make sure that they are numerous, consistent and attractive with nice cleavage, perky, symmetrical  and natural looking with nice peri areola scar.

You should still be able to have a breast lift with implants if you have a VP shunt.  Clearance from your specialist may be needed.  Visit with a board certified plastic surgeon near you to discuss your concerns and learn more about the procedure.

Yes, your shunt should not be a problem since it should not be placed inside your breast. Your plastic surgeon might need a letter of medical clearance from your primary physician or neurosurgeon.

Having a VP shunt should not exclude you from having most cosmetic surgical procedures. Operations that include anatomic areas that include the shunt may be an issue. This could for example include a tummy tuck.I suggest you review your medical history, including the VP shunt during in person consultations with plastic surgeons.
