I wanted a stronger jawline and to correct my jowls - I was told that fat grafting would fix my problem areas. Some how the surgeon and I got off the subject of jowls and we ended up putting fat into my cheeks, chin and jawline & now my problem areas have been enhanced with fat. I still have sagging cheeks and now my jowls are more apparent! The pre surgery photo is being held undernieth my post surgery face. Notice how round and masculine I am now. My surgery was March 2017.
Answer: Removal of excess facial fat after fat grafting. Removal of excess facial fat after fat grafting. I would need to examine your face to give a proper answer. I have removed fat grafting of many patients but it is usually encased in scar and can't be suctioned out. No steroid injections! See a very experienced facial plastic surgeon for this.

Answer: Revising the facial fat transfer Removing transferred fat to the face can be difficult and the times not possible to remove. This is why so many plastic surgeons recommended patient use temporary filler's. If for no other reason's fillers can give patients the preview of what facial volume will do as well as the aesthetic judgment of the provider. Certain areas can be treated with liposuction to remove fat but fat that is transferred into areas that don't have natural layers of fat liposuction is not a realistic option. Some providers recommendations there at injections. Anti-inflammatory steroids generally do not make the fat go away. Steroid injections can cause fat atrophy (shrinking of fat )which is usually considered and undesirable complication and fairly rare. To get an accurate assessment you definitely need an in person consultation reviewing all possible options. Any of the answer received on real self will be generalizations and should not be taken as concrete recommendations. Best, Mats Hagstrom M.D.

Answer: Can I remove fat that has been transferred to my face? Yes, it can be removed in most instances. I would normally do it through tiny incisions inside the nose. The jaw line could have been enhanced similar to Angelina Jolie or Brad Pitt with a mandible angle implant that is pit in through the mouth with no outside scars. Answer: I hate my fat transfer! Can it be reversed? Thanks for your photos. You look like someone who had fat grafting and then possibly went on to gain weight and achieved excess volume. If this is the case I would encourage you to return to a maintainable and healthy weight. If this is not the case then I would not expect liposuction to be effective and safe to remove the excess fat.Jon A Perlman M.D., FACSDiplomate, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS)Beverly Hills, California
