"Dimples" are due to the attachment of the skin to the underlying structures. If the dissection ends to the corner of the mouth, it can impact the depth of the dimple. However, the skin reattaches to the underlying structures and you should have more youthful dimples. Hope this helps.Dr KSan Francisco, Ca
In the majority of the cases yes the dimples get affected but they don’t disappear , When patient have deep dimples and they age normally become creases and by pulling the skin the creases improved but the dimple remains
Hello, thank you for the question. It definitely depends on the surgical technique your board-certified surgeon uses. Sometimes your dimples can be altered or changed completely. I would consult your surgeon for more direction. Good luck!
Thanks for your question. This, as you notice, is a controversial question. When a patient asks me this question, I always caution them that it is possible. I try my best to avoid affecting the dimples, however it is common that the dimples are altered. Even if the dimples remain, its possible they will move to a new location on the face. In some situations, this may not be desirable. Its important to discuss this with your surgeon and plan ahead. Thanks for the question
This is great question. Generally a facelift will firm the slack in the skin of the cheek. This may affect the apparent depth and loose skin and extra folds around the dimple. As long as the undermining of the skin isn't directly below the dimple itself, it will remain. It is not common to undermine in this area. Best to you,Dr. Fink
This is difficult to answer without pictures. A facelift may change your dimples. With a facelift, the neck skin would be elevated, tightened and the excess skin removed. The jowls (which are hanging down on either side of the jaw line near the mouth) would be eradicated and symmetry would be improved. The sagging cheeks would be lifted. There is no doubt you would look significantly younger, and more fresh with long lasting results.Sincerely, Philip J. Miller, MD, FACSDouble Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon
A facelift sometimes will change the dimples a little. It depends on where the dimples are. If they are on your cheeks it’s pretty much hit or miss regarding what will happen to them. In my experience they usually remain after a facelift.
Dimples are not typically eliminated during a facelift, but the appearance of the dimples may change because the skin around them will be smoother and tighter. Dimples vary greatly between patients, and the results that patients experience will also vary. You should discuss your particular case with your plastic surgeon. Good luck.
If dimples are close to the mouth, they will not be affected. If they are in the mid cheek area, they may change. The type of facelift dictates the odds they will change. Is use with your surgeon what technique he or she uses.
Dear Valhalla Rose,There are several types of facelifts and as long as the area of the dimples is not touched during the procedure, your dimples should remain as they areI would bring this up to your surgeon and show him/her the location of the dimples so they can stay away from themWhen you are ready, choose a specialist who can address all of your concernsBest,Dr. NimaMember, American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive SurgeryBoard Certified Facial Plastic SurgeonBoard Certified in Head and Neck Surgery

Severe ear pain after a full face and neck lift is likely due to the blockage of wax and the post surgical swelling of the ear canal. You may have to schedule an appointment with an ENT doctor to check on you and give proper medication and have your ear wax removed.
