I had Juvaderm, one syringe injected on marionette lines, from lip to lower part of my chin. I'm 47. This was my first experience with filler. It's been 5 days and I have 3 pea size lumps that are not going away. I am very worried about this. Has anyone else experienced this? Will it stay? I am no longer in the area that I had the procedure and the next clinic is about 8 hours away. I live in a very remote area.
Answer: I had Juvederm, one syringe injected on marionette lines, from lip to lower part of my chin. I now have lumps. Is this normal? Hello, and thank you for the question. In general, treatment with Juvederm may result in the following side effects: 1) Lumps or bumps2) Swelling3) Light bruising4) Redness around the injection siteLumps may be a result of swelling. They may also be a result of excess product or product injected too superficially. After 5 days, swelling can still be a factor. I would recommend giving it some time, as the swelling can last up to two weeks. If necessary, hyaluronidase can be used to dissolve any excess filler. I would recommend following up with your provider, as he/she knows the details of your treatment. I hope this helps, and I wish you the best of luck.

Answer: Juvederm lumps Juvederm is very hydrophilic which means it attracts water after it is injected. For this reason it may swell more than some of the other fillers. At 5 days you may still have some swelling and even some deep bruising from the injections. You can do some gentle massage on the lumps which can often smooth them out. If after a couple of weeks there is still a lump you can have it removed with some hyaluronidase. I would only do that if the lump is visible. Many patients may have lumps they can feel but you can't see them. In those cases, no need to have the filler removed.

Answer: Swelling is a common side effect of fillers. Swelling is a common side effect of fillers. You may be experiencing some swelling, this can take 2 weeks to subside. If the bumps are product a gentle massage can be performed to help soften the area. If after 2-3 weeks the "lumps" remain you may want to consider visiting the clinic. At this appointment you can discuss your options. One option would be to have the product dissolved with a hyaluronidase injection.

Answer: Lumps after filler injections Hello. Thank you for your question. It is normal to have swelling and lumps for up to 2 weeks after filler. I would not worry about the lumps or swelling at this point. As the swelling goes down they should even out. I would recommend giving them a full 2 weeks to settle in completely. If you are still unhappy at 2 weeks, call your injector to discuss your options. You can always dissolve the filler with a product called hylauronidase if needed. you could massage the lumps lightly several times a day to help even them out. Good luck!
