There is always some swelling that happens after filler injection. Some of it might be bruising, some of it is related to the filler absorbing water. Both of these should come down after 1-2 weeks. If they are still too large, injecting a filler 'dissolver' can help to bring them down a bit. But I wouldn't do this for 2 weeks at least.
Hello, and thank you for the question. It is not abnormal to have swelling right after your lip injections. In general, the final result is evident after 2 weeks. I would give it a bit of time and let the swelling settle down. Your provider should be able to answer any questions you have in the meantime. I hope this helps, and I wish you the best of luck.
Lips can often get very swollen with filler injections. Use some ice compresses, keep the head elevated, and take some ibuprofen. Some patients say that Benadryl also helps to decrease the swelling. They will often look overcorrected for about 7-10 days.
Swelling after lip injections is very common. Ice will help. The lips will come down in a few days to a week.
Swelling is a common side effect of lip injections. This may take 2 weeks to gradually go down. It helps to sleep with your head slightly elevated and use cold compressed on of 10 mins and off for 10 mins. All the Best.
Swelling post lip augmentation is possible. If the swelling persists for more than two weeks, consult your injector as he or she knows the specifics about the treatment and you.
This is a known side effect of lip augmentation. There are ways, however, to perform this procedure without making someone look like they have been punched in the face. My theory is less is more; I would rather use a smaller amount of filler more often so that the patient does not have any down time. It also helps to use Beletero, which does not swell much at all, or Restylane, to inject in a small number of areas, to avoid the threading technique, and to use ice during and after the treatment. Utilizing these tips, I rarely have complaints.
