What can I do about a hard lump on my hip at the end of my tummy tuck incision? (Photos)

Thanks for you sending your pics and questions. The results and the concerns you have are fairly typical at this point of your recovery. 4 wks is very early and you are going to have some firm, hard areas as the tissues are still healing. I would recommend following your surgeon's post op instructions and then re-assess in a couple more months. Best of luck in your recovery.

Thank you for your question. Looks like you are healing normally. This is to be expected at 4 weeks, the tissues don't soften up for several months after surgery. Compression is helpful, and various scar creams if you have a propensity for bad scarring. Generally though, nothing much needs to be done other than giving it time to heal. So don't worry too much, listen to your surgeon and his staff, this is what they do every day.

Dear un1corn,I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a tummy tuck surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively.At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides  you will be able to see the final result of your surgery.Daniel Barrett, MD

You are still very early in your recovery process. Continue to follow the advice of your surgeon. If over the next few months the area doesn't improve your surgeon can do a minor revision to correct it. This is often performed in the office surgical suite under local anesthesia.

Some lumpiness can appear after any form of surgery, and generally resolves over the coming months.  If it does not, then I recommend that you ask your surgeon about other treatments (like ultrasound, liposuction, massage, or others). If you have any questions, call our office for assistance.
