I have a deep scar on my eyebrow from an old piercing, is there anything I can have done to remove this or to make it less noticeable, as at the moment it is really quite deep and prominent.
Answer: A scar revision can be done for this Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started. Answer: Eyebrow scar removal Most likely the most effective way to remove an eyebrow piercing scar is by surgical excision. Piercing scars are usually very discreet and if there is an intact epithelial (skin) tract between the two insertion points, that tract needs to be removed as well. Luckily due to the small nature of the openings the scars can be excised with minimal incision length and usually heal very well.

Answer: How can I get rid of an old eyebrow piercing scar? There are many options to improve scars. It's impossible to make specific recommendations without actually seeing the scar itself. However, significant improvement can usually be created with resurfacing procedure (fractional laser, dermabrasion, microneedling) or surgical scar revision. In the case of something like a piercing scar, removal of the scar tract can also be beneficial. I hope this information is helpful for you.Stephen Weber MD, FACSDenver Facial Plastic Surgeon
